Project Management Fundamentals for Life Sciences
Level: Foundation
Length: 2 days
PDUs/Contact Hours: 15
Life Science projects, by their nature, are high risk, costly and lengthy. Project management creates predictability in the midst of this uncertain environment and provides a framework for understanding and managing risk. mScholar project management workshops are based on our Accelerated Project Performance (APP) methodology, which incorporates project management best practices and project leadership into a holistic approach to project success in the life science environment.
This highly interactive workshop is designed to equip project managers and project team members with the practical knowledge and skills needed to successfully initiate, plan, manage and complete projects. It is customized to address the level of complexity encountered in typical life science projects. The connection between project management and the product development life cycle will be addressed.
Practicing effective project management in a life science environment will help you to:
- Plan and evaluate alternative scenarios and their impact on desired outcomes.
- Provide a framework for managing trade-offs and stakeholder expectations.
- Integrate cross-functional efforts for maximum productivity (especially when tied to portfolio and resource planning).
- Break large development efforts to manageable parts (programs, projects,sub-projects) and clarify deliverables and ownership for reliable delivery.
